About the Community of St. Peters

The City of St. Peters, Missouri, is a City that works, with a quality of life that’s second to none, recognized by Money Magazine twice as one of the Top 100 Best Places to Live in America. Located in St. Charles County, to the northeast of St. Louis County, St. Peters is home to 53,000 people and over 2,500 businesses that provide 27,500-plus jobs.

The City of St. Peters has a Mayor and eight Aldermen who each serve four-year terms. The City of St. Peters as a whole elects the Mayor. Aldermen seats are decided in each of four political wards. Those ward’s voters select two Aldermen to represent them. The Mayor chairs Board of Aldermen meetings. The Board of Aldermen enacts legislation, and the Mayor votes on bills in the case of a tie. A full-time, professional City Administrator works with the direction of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen, and is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the City of St. Peters’ professional staff.
